Author Wrote- 'Guns can offer protection, but they don’t offer safety. Arming teachers
may give the illusion of safety, but after all, any bullet that leaves that barrel is
going to end up being unsafe for somebody.'
The point of having guns in the hands of trained, legally carrying teachers is to deny
safety to someone who would do harm to our, your children. Of course any bullet leaving
the barrel of a gun can be unsafe, If the bad guy has two or three guns he can reload at
will and a bag full of ammunition just imagine how many people are unsafe. Wait, you dont have to think, it has already happened, remember?
I applaud the administrators and government of Harrold and Rick Perry for finally
enabling the teachers to take a proactive stance in protecting our students. Gun laws are not the answer, there are gun laws for illegally buying, carrying and using guns. Laws are for the honest among us.
I hope that a bullet leaving the barrel of a heroic teacher is very unsafe for someone
who has it in his mind to kill my child at school. I would go out on a limb here and bet
that you will not see anyone invading Harrold ISD school with the intent of gunning down
students and teachers knowing some may be armed, would you?
