While the world has been concerned with trying to convince people to boycott the Chinese Olympics this year, the Peoples Liberation Navy has been very busy keeping their business secret. That is until satellite images of its huge new submarine facility built into island mountains were released to the press.

Google Earth has conveniently given us a high resolution patch of imagery which you can access by pointing your Google earth client to 18°12'9.50"N and 109°41'40.52"E. Of particular interest is the mouth of the base which is capable of launching nuclear subs directly into deep water, making them harder to track.
