While reading of John Lennon’s half-sister’s book – “Imagine This: Growing Up With My Brother John Lennon,” by Julian Baird – a headline caught my attention. Apparently, the hand-painted drum skin from The Beatles’ "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" (1967) album was sold for £541,250 (U.S. $1.1 million) to an anonymous bidder in an auction yesterday in London, Reuters reports.
Among other rock star items, Lennon’s handwritten lyrics to “Give Peace A Chance” sold for $834 million, and Lennon’s sunglasses used in the album "Mind Games" sold for $79,000.
