The Republican National Convention officially nominated Arizona Republican John McCain to be the Democratic nominee for president on Wednesday.
We know the Republican establishment was never fond of McCain, but this is ridiculous.
Just after Arizona cast its 53 votes for its senior senator at the Republican nominating convention, putting him above the 1,191-delegate threshold, CNN – “The Most Trusted Name in News” – ran a headline reading: McCain “Officially Wins Democratic Nomination.” A screenshot of CNN's live broadcast of the Republican National Convention shows the erroneous headline that John McCain won the Democratic nomination for president. Photo by Justin Hemlepp/TheSequitur.com. That will be news to McCain. I wonder if he’ll actually accept. Right now and by nearly every measure, the Democrats are doing much better than the Republicans. So now may be the best time to jump ships for McCain – if, of course, the Democrats will have him.
