TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Thanks to the generous efforts of TheSequitur.com editors, administrators, contributors and other supporters, the humble Web rag you’re reading celebrated its first birthday Jan. 30.
Finally, on behalf of the entire TheSequitur.com team, a word of sincere thanks to our readers ... Originally conceived as a sort of smart ass parody of a real magazine, TheSequitur.com has blossomed into a site featuring submissions of fact, fiction and opinion from three continents, two blogs: Fire in a Theater and Morning Coffee, almost weekly editorials and, of course, the syndicated cartoons of Andy Marlette. We take things seriously around here nowadays.
Indeed, there’s much more where that came from. Despite the fact that each person involved with TheSequitur.com receives no paycheck, has other professional and academic responsibilities and is scattered throughout the United States, we’ve been working together on some exciting changes to the magazine.
For instance, a reader comments section soon will be included in all articles, podcasting and video projects are in the works and we’re working to recruit a wider net of contributors and editors based throughout the United States and elsewhere. In other words, we want you to write for TheSequitur.com! (Well, maybe not all of you.)
So, please, check out our submission policy. We welcome submissions of original, well-researched and thoughtful commentary, enterprise reporting, creative writing, art and literary critique and images. We hope to see many more submissions in this year than the last.
Finally, on behalf of the entire TheSequitur.com team, a word of sincere thanks to our readers: Thank you for your support, your input, your criticisms and for telling all your friends about TheSequitur.com.
